As you are no doubt aware, the Emilia-Romagna Region is committed to implementing the constitutional principles that reject war as a means of violating the freedom of other peoples and as a means of resolving international disputes(Regional Law No. 12/2002) and promotes the development of peaceful, just and inclusive societies that are free from fear and violence.
To reach this goal, the Region supports initiatives to educate and raise awareness among the regional community on issues of international solidarity, interculturalism and peace, as well as cultural, research and information initiatives on issues of peace and the protection of human rights, with a view to preventing and combating discrimination, in particular on grounds of ethnic origin, religion, political opinion or personal and social circumstances. This commitment would be impossible without the professional and voluntary work of hundreds of formal and informal groups belonging to civil society.
This galaxy of subjects is, by its very nature, composite and changeable. In order to enhance its effectiveness, it is essential to take a photograph that reflects its characteristics, values, needs and potential.
We think this is a crucial time to consolidate synergies or modify outdated arrangements, to try to mark a small step change in the relationship between activism and institutional engagement.
We want to understand – now and in our field – who and what we can count on.
We therefore ask you to take a few minutes of your time to answer the following questions and, if you wish, to distribute the questionnaire to organisations in Emilia-Romagna that, like yours, are committed to promoting a culture of peace.
